Experiments to understand how cells work
|
I have exceeded my goal of $2500 and am looking forward to the ride this weekend.
Thank you everyone!!!!!
As head of the Laboratory for Molecular Endocrinology at the Western Australian Institute for Medical Research, I am striving to understand the molecular determinants of diseases such as cancer - and how we can develop better treatments with fewer side effects. I am committed to improving the health of all Western Australians, including the 1 in 2 who will be diagnosed with cancer at sometime in their life.
My wife originally took up the challenge of riding 200km over 2 days, but a recent diagnosis of inflammatory arthritis has meant she has had to pull out and I have taken up the baton. I am not a regular rider, but my training is going well and I am looking forward to completing this amazing ride alongside cancer sufferers, cancer survivors, colleagues and everyone else riding together to help beat this terrible disease in all its forms.
All donations made will support critical work at WAIMR at a time when funding is getting harder and harder to find. All of us know someone who has had cancer. Some win the battle due to treatments resulting out of decades of medical research, but there are still a huge number who lose. Your donation can help us have more winners.
Thank you in advance for your help.
