AN EPIC RIDE TO CONQUER CANCER

Support My Ride to Conquer Cancer?
Welcome to my Personal Page! The Sunsuper Ride to Conquer Cancer benefiting the Western Australian Institute for Medical Research (WAIMR), is a cycling journey throughout the scenic countryside of Western Australia that I?m embarking on to fight cancer. It will be a challenge in a number of ways, but with my bike, my helmet, and your generosity, a real impact will be made!
I'm not a cyclist (I know my bottom is going to be very sore), in fact, I just bought my first road bike today so I could do the Ride to Conquer Cancer, I'm doing it to celebrate the lives of 2 very special women in my life who are breast cancer survivors ...
Cancer hit close to home a couple of years ago when my Mum was disgnosed with breast cancer. It's not something I would wish on anyone, but I'm proud to say that my Mum is a survivor and she is now cancer free! If Mum can go through all that ... then surely I can ride 200km.
Travelling the cancer journey with her made me realise how lucky (not a word I would normally associate with cancer) she was to be able to have new chemo drugs that halved the length of time she spent having chemo. I think there needs to be more done to make these drugs available to everyone and also research new treatments. Money is desperately needed to research new and less intrusive treatments with less side-effects ... or even better, preventative medicines!
I also have a very inspiring friend who survived breast-cancer almost 15 years ago. She's one of the most positive, uplifting people I know. She went through her cancer journey in her 30's and I recently attended her 50th!
Please contribute to this history-making event with a donation ... every little bit counts and I know money is tight, so even if you can spare $10 it would be greatly appreciated. Funds raised in The Sunsuper Ride to Conquer Cancer will support groundbreaking, critical cancer research being undertaken at the Western Australian Institute for Medical Research, Western Australia?s premier adult medical research institute, investigating the genetic and environmental causes of a range of diseases.
Thank you in advance for your help.
