Support My Ride to Conquer Cancer?

I am going to ride 200km to raise money for cancer research in October 2012.

The Sunsuper Ride to Conquer Cancer benefiting the Western Australian Institute for Medical Research (WAIMR), is a cycling journey throughout the scenic countryside of Western Australia that I am embarking on to fight cancer. It will be a challenge in a number of ways, but with my bike, my helmet, and your generosity, a real impact will be made!


Like everyone I have had people I know and love suffer and win, suffer and lose their own personal battles with cancer. All of them, different in the type of cancer, the time they have left to fight and survive or just live and the type of treatment available to them. It is heart rendering to be on the side lines and watch those that you love and care for battle this debilitating disease in whatever form it takes. I like so many have had to live with the knowledge that I will still be here. Yes it is sad and also liberating to see them survive no matter what the odds.

I could quote a lot of facts and figures about cancer and outcomes and lots of info that we can all access or we have heard before so I?m not going too. But I am asking you to help me.  I will do the ride and bug you for your support and all you have to do is support me in my quest to  help.  I lived as a carer for too long with someone close to me who had cancer.  Luckily she beat it and is still here to bug me.  Not a lot I can do, she is my mum. But I have known and loved a lot of people who have been affected by this horrid disease at some point in their lives. Be it they knew of someone or they had cancer themselves or they cared for someone suffering.  Many of them die and some of them live to carry on enjoying life....just not everyone.  This is hard and sad no matter what the outcome and to many people have had to live through this.

Please help me to raise money for this vital research, I have donated $100 to start and I am asking that you donate whatever you can afford (don?t be afraid to donate more if you want I won?t object) as I am confident that I will ride the 200km and I will cross the finish line as my ride is dedicated to my mum and every other person who has died or survived cancer.

Funds raised in The Sunsuper Ride to Conquer Cancer will support groundbreaking, critical cancer research being undertaken at the Western Australian Institute for Medical Research, Western Australia?s premier adult medical research institute, investigating the genetic and environmental causes of a range of diseases.

All funds are paid direct to the WA Institute for Research and they will happily send you a receipt. Please help me to make a difference, whatever you can afford be it $20 or a $1000, 100% of all donations go direct to help fund the research of this debilitating disease. Don?t forget it is all tax deductable as well.
