Support My Ride to Conquer Cancer?

Welcome to my Personal Page! The Sunsuper Ride to Conquer Cancer benefiting the Western Australian Institute for Medical Research (WAIMR), is a cycling journey throughout the scenic countryside of Western Australia that I?m embarking on to fight cancer. It will be a challenge in a number of ways, but with my bike, my helmet, and your generosity, a real impact will be made!

I am participating in the Ride to Conquer Cancer which will be going towards Cancer Research. I will be cycling for over 200km in October.

I had a very special friend in my life - she was diagnosed with breast cancer over 2 years ago. She has left behind 2 beautiful children and an amazing supportive husband. She had  battled this disease day in day out with a smile on her face and a positive word to everyone. Her cancer spread to her abdomin, both her lungs and also her liver. She suffered and was in constant pain especially towards the end.  Her breathing was impossible without an oxygen mask. 

During this whole time she was a tower of strength to her children, husband, family and friends. She is an inspiration to me and to all those who know her.

She lost her life in May after battling day in and day out - she wanted to live but unfortunately the pain became too much and her will to live was outweighed with the thought of being pain free.

We all know of someone who has dealt with cancer, being treated for cancer, cancer survivors and also those who have unforunately lost their lives to this terrible disease.

I want to be part of something that possibly may find a cure to this horrible disease and hopefully help millions of people who are like my friend and battling everyday.
