Support My Ride to Conquer Cancer?

The Sunsuper Ride to Conquer Cancer is a 200km bike ride from Perth benefiting the Western Australian Institute for Medical Research (WAIMR). 

WAIMR is based in WA and does great work in medical research into the genetic and enviromental causes of cancer. WAIMR is a world leader in research into genes associated with leukemia, diabetes and cancer - particularly breast, ovarian and prostate cancer. This research forms the basis of new therapies.

WAIMR also works collaboratively with the Scott Kirkbride Melanoma Research Centre (SKMRC).

I want to complete the ride and help raise money for WAIMR and SKMRC because my family has had personal experience with cancer. My mother is a breast cancer survivor and I am very proud of her. My family and my partner's family also have members who have beaten melanoma.

The medical research underaken to date contributed to their survival in their battles against cancer. As approx 114,000 new cases of cancer are diagnosed each year in Australia and approx 43,000 people will die in Australia this year from cancer, I would like to further support that research work by raisng funds through this ride.

And of course my lovely partner Dianne is a senior research scientist at WAIMR and I see a first hand account of WAIMR's work.
